Because winter is not finished with us yet

Not everyone read that last weekend’s Inkspiration Saturday was my last all-day event, so you’re seeing the announcement again!

It was a wonderful day (you may have seen the short Facebook Live Video here when the day was just beginning), beautiful and spring-like, and the activities inside went off without a hitch.  We had a lovely lunch with Peter and his family on Sunday, followed by a surprisingly long nap (at home, LOL).  I woke up with a screaming sore throat and stuffy head.  I immediately began rounds of Zicam and Mucco Coccinum, so I hope I will be back to 100% soon.

And yesterday we were treated to another blast of winter weather, with rain, sleet, and snow.  And I thought I was being retrospective when I included this card in the Inkspiration Saturday lineup!

I have the worst time capturing blues when I take pictures inside.  I added green when I was editing the photo, but even so you’ll be surprised that the card base here is actually Dapper Denim.  No, it doesn’t look like it!

This is a really simple card, inspired by Kat Chancellor (you’ll find other wintry scenes on Pinterest using this set as well).  I think I got the tip from her to mist your Whisper White pad with water to freshen up the ink.  Re-inking that pad with the thick ink is something that is literally a pain (to my arthritic hands), so I was glad that this refresh tip worked.  However, eventually I really needed to re-ink the pad — I almost did a happy dance to find that the ink flowed from the new bottle without that intense squeezing!

As usual, I recommend using the Heat Tool on Whisper White ink to dry it and brighten the color.  It makes a difference!

One more little tip about the little tag from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits:  rather than attempting to thread the twine through the hole in that tiny tag, simple cut a notch in the top of the tag and slip it under the bow.  Adhere it to the card and it will appear to be attached to the twine.  Only you and I know the truth!  (See another example here.)
