If you’re hopping in order, you’ve arrived here from My Sandbox and enjoyed Nikki’s creativity.  Her work is beautiful and inspiring to me.

This time our inspiration comes from Picture Perfect Birthday on page 5 of the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  I wasn’t originally loving this set when we received it at OnStage in Salt Lake City in November, I think because the fun photographic imagery of the Designer Series Paper kind of overpowers the stamps.  The stamp set has beautiful sentiments and versatile elements, so I challenged myself to make something really different from the suite samples.

My first card is for our grandson, to congratulate him on his very fine report card for the semester.  Green is now his favorite color, but when we were in the studio last week, I asked him about some other colors.  He said, “I think you’re planning something for me, Grandma!”  I can’t get away with anything.

I never get tired of stamping backgrounds, and I’m particularly happy with this one using the two-step gift bow image along with the little confetti stamp.  It takes a little time to create a small panel like this (reason enough to create one that can be cut into several pieces!), but it is very soothing and satisfying work for me.  It occurred to me recently that I hadn’t used Flirty Flamingo for months, although it’s my favorite 2016-2018 In Color.  I love it with Blushing Bride and gray.

Thanks for stopping at Heartfelt Inkspiration!  You’re now on to Mike’s blog, Stampin-Style.  I know you’ll love what he has to show you!

Ha! Clever grandkid you have there 😉
I completely agree with you on the activity of stamping a repetitive background- very soothing. I looked at yours and thought “Where did she get the heart stamp?” and then realized it is in the stamp set. Duh!

You are certainly the master of backgrounds! Love the pink and gray card too!

  14. Clever grand-kid you have. lol Too cute and green is my favorite color too. I love his card so sweet of you to make him a card for his report card (good job to him too!). I love the repetitive stamping too it’s soothing or at least it is for me. I don’t think I have used Flirty Flamingo in awhile either. lol Great cards!
