Now the cornstalks are bleached against the early darkening sky, the sound of the marching bands drifts across the field, and the honking geese flying overhead make me smile.
I’m thankful I live in the Midwest.
When I travel and see mountains or oceans or huge forests, I sometimes feel a tug towards another place. But not for long.
This camp card from September summarizes the joy I feel as fall arrives — somewhat belated here. I called this an “inlaid” leaf: stamp and emboss the leaf image, then use Sponge Daubers to apply color (make sure to use a cotton ball to wipe the ink off the embossed areas). Finally, die cut both the stamped cardstock and the Early Espresso panel at the same time. Flat adhere the colored leaf inside the Early Espresso piece — like a puzzle.
