This is not a card on this month’s camp lineup, as you may have already seen! But since I love gold and vanilla — and all the textures here — it will go in my own stash after being displayed at Inkspiration Saturday on October 7. Simply stunning in person!
Tip #1: That little bit of scallop border to the sentiment circle is beautiful, but there’s an awful lot of Foil hidden. It could seem like a waste, but here I cut the tree out of the center of the scalloped circle — both at the same time!
Tip #2: Assuming you are not cutting words, numbers or letters, cutting Glimmer Paper is easier (and you can see what you’re doing) on the reverse, white side of the paper. This also gives you a mirror image of the Foil tree, so they are not exactly the same.
Tip #3: Using a smaller panel of the same cardstock as the card base doesn’t necessarily require Stampin’ Dimensionals to give definition to the edges. I’ve simply used dabs of Multipurpose Liquid Glue about 1″ from the edges to secure the panel. No bulk!
Although the Carols of Christmas set and coordinating Card Front Builder Thinlits dies (available as a bundle) are from the 2017 Holiday Catalog, you can get them both this month, before the catalog debuts September 1. Talk about getting a head start!
