As I was cleaning out my magazine stash from last month (apparently a bit late, as I have already received one June issue!), I ripped these pages out of the April issue of Better Homes & Gardens.
I am captivated by these patterns! And, because I’m always thinking Stampin’ Up!, my thoughts went to the Eastern Palace Suite. (Read details of this early release here.) Because it’s available this month in two exclusive bundles that won’t be offered in the new catalog, I’ll be featuring Eastern Palace products in May stamp camps.
Truthfully, I’m not really crazy about the color combinations in the Stampin’ Up! promotional materials for this suite — too dark, too dramatic, too heavy. So you’ll see I’m going lighter with my designs.
On my own, I’ve been using some of the tile motifs seen in this magazine article for inspiration. I suppose this kind of repetitive, meticulous stamping doesn’t appeal to everyone — and unfortunately, it’s not really practical for camp projects — but I love the rhythm.
To those who have ordered the Eastern Palace Suite products this month, I challenge you to replicate this kind of tile work!
