I love paper piecing, but this swap card from December nearly pushed me over the edge!
This concept came to mind shortly after seeing the Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies in the 2017 Occasions Catalog. Offering both outline and piercing dies, I love the versatility of this product.
The coordinating stamp set, That’s the Tag, is the featured set for Inkspiration Saturday on March 4, and these dies can be bundled with your registration. Have you registered yet? The deadline is Friday, February 10 — read the details of this event and register online (or print out the brochure) here. InkSat participants, you’ll be happy to know that you will not be making this card! I know better than to ask you make two cards of this design, especially since it could result in a sort of mutiny against me!
The concept of paper piecing is simple: replace a part of a design with patterned paper in the same shape. You can see an example of it here. In this case, however, the patterned paper does not overlay a shape, it fills an open window. So this was fussy cutting to the max, followed by fussy gluing and fussy trimming. I made a mess. I love the result, but as a swap card, it was kind of torture!
