Simply christmas cheer

In last week’s newsletter (a weekly email “blurb”), I listed my tips for creating a quick card.  (If you’re not a subscriber, sign up now!)  This is another layout that is both quick and an efficient use of 12″ x 12″ patterned paper.

If you’ve got a keen eye, you noticed that this background paper isn’t from a 12″ x 12″ pack!  Still, the directions are the same:

  1. Cut patterned paper 3⅞” x 3⅞” (you’ll get 9 cards from one 12″ x 12″ sheet!).
  2. Make a diagonal cut about 1″ up from the lower left corner to about 1″ down from the upper right corner of the square.
  3. Flat adhere halves to the top and bottom of a 4″ x 5¼” mat.

I think you can see how the two halves originally fit together.  I adhered ribbon along the diagonal black mat before flat adhering the entire piece to a white card base.

If you’re having trouble visualizing how the directions actually work, let me know and I’ll take pictures of the process.

Experiment with different Designer Series Paper packs!
