Wow — what a long time it’s been since I participated in the Stamp Review Crew twice-monthly blog hop! (Each first and third Monday, a group of bloggers will post Stampin’ Up! projects using one stamp set. Navigate through the hop by clicking the Next and Previous buttons at the bottom of each blog post; typically, clicking on the hop banner, above, will take you to a complete list of bloggers for this hop.)
If you’ve arrived here from another blog, you probably came from My Papercraft Journey, where you enjoyed Kelly’s take on Blended Bloom, our featured set (retiring at the end of May!) this week.
Our beautiful granddaughter is graduating from college this week, and this card is for her — classic and sweet. I started with the image stamped in VersaMark and embossed in white, then sponged and blended Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral. Two more elements, also retiring, complete the card: a bit of Dazzling Details in the center of the flower and the sentiment from Bravo. (I did get rid of the smudge at the right edge of the card … sponging + bandage on thumb = stamping problem.)
Kind of looks like our blog hop banner and buttons this time, doesn’t it? (Thanks, Tanya Boser!) My card is an entry into the Xtreme Paper Piecing Games — I stamped the flower in various directions on Typeset DSP and once on Crumb Cake cardstock, then fussy cut twenty-eight pieces, sponged those twenty-eight pieces, then adhered twenty-eight pieces to the twenty-eight spaces on the base flower. (I counted the pieces so I could explain to my chiropractor why I now need my neck adjusted.) Originally this topped a gift box, but I preferred a simpler, plainer showcase!
I’m so glad you stopped by to see my creations! Now on you go to Jessica Williams’ work at The Paper Caper. Enjoy!
