Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew’s latest blog hop, this time featuring the fabulous Vintage Leaves set from the Stampin’ Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalog. Are you arriving from Holly’s Rubber Redneck blog? What a treat!
Why wouldn’t any stamper “fall” for this stamp set? I did! And I’ve stamped with it a lot, especially since I’m using it for next month’s Inkspiration Saturday.
There’s something about these images that just calls for crisp black and white. I love the toile look — in clothing and home decor, too! — so I wanted a framed piece to hang somewhere. This was harder to stamp than you might think, and I ended up with some discarded pieces that will work up nicely into cards.
Speaking of trial and error (much error!), I had an idea for this next card that I just couldn’t execute. I first stamped in Whisper White Craft ink, dried it, then overstamped with … well, that was the problem. You’d be amazed how many colors of card stock and ink I tried! This is black ink (can you believe it?) on Tip Top Taupe; the white base changes the color of the ink. So this isn’t exactly the card I envisioned, and I may just go back to the work table after this busy season to see if I can work it out.
So there you have it — not an autumn color used! Now that was a challenge! Hmmm … I wonder what beauties await us at Stamps & Scraps with Yapha. Go check it out, and enjoy the rest of the hop!
