Hello Star

Debra Burgin 1507 Hello StarThis July camp card (and convention swap card) uses one of my favorite techniques:  the shading of a star shape to create a 3-D effect.  No origami here, just paper, ink, and a sponge.  You can see an explanation and photo HERE.  Follow links in that post to see other “barn star” cards I’ve made, or check out this more elegant version from a 2014 Holiday Catalog stamp set:

Debra Burgin Christmas StarsYou’re So Sweet was available to demonstrators before the debut of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  Used along with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits (it’s a bundle!), this set is a winner.  I wonder if it might be useful with a certain box die coming soon in the Holiday Catalog …

And speaking of the Holiday Catalog, today is the day I finalize the mailing of this publication through Stampin’ Up!  If you place orders with me, attend camps, or generally support my business, you can look forward to receiving the Holiday Catalog a few weeks before it goes live on September 1.

Meanwhile, you must try this simple technique to see this optical illusion for yourself!
