Good morning, stampers, and welcome to the Stampin’ Addicts New In Color Blog Hop! For several years, Stampin’ Up! has added five new In Colors to the palette — but only for two years. That means that we always have ten to work with: every year five are retired and five are introduced. I love last year’s colors — so summery! — but I love the new ones, too!
If you’re following the hop in order (you can see the lineup here), then you’ve just seen Mary’s projects featuring Tangelo Twist at her blog, Mary’s Stamping Happenings. Here I’m showing off stunning Blackberry Bliss. I had trouble stopping stamping, so you’ll see more after this hop is over.
I started with something simple, for those times when you need a card pronto. The only issue here is waiting for the Dazzling Details to dry! May I suggest adding the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack to your wish list? Incorporating three of the five 2014-2016 In Colors, it is full of excellent patterns for cards or Project Life insert cards.
Next is a card featuring a technique I call Water Spotting; it’s the invention of super stamper Amy O’Neill (she calls it faux watercoloring). This will be our technique for June stamp camps. What was surprising is how different the sponged Blackberry Bliss ink is from the card stock on this card. It’s not bad, just brighter.
Finally, a card that started with a Blackberry banner stamped with Positively Chevron and embossed in clear powder — then quickly spiraled out of control! In April we made a card with a similar wreath, but this time I used the image from Kind & Cozy. I love the way this turned out, and I think I’ll put it to the side for a special anniversary coming up in August. BTW, here you can see that the ink is exactly the same as the card stock.
I hope you are sharing the Bliss with me! You’ll find more of it at the next hop stop, at Stampin’ with Paula. Have fun!
