Stamp Review Crew: Chalk Talk Edition

SRC-chalk-talk-001banHow it’s even possible that it’s the third Monday this month, I don’t know.  When we greeted 2014, didn’t the year arrive as a baby, and shouldn’t a baby be crawling, not racing?

The good news is it’s time for another Stamp Review Crew blog hop — this one featuring Chalk Talk.  (Making the rounds?  You’ve come from Tinkerin’ in Ink and enjoyed Tanya’s creations using the digital version of this set.  Need to see the list of bloggers?  Click the banner above!)

I tried to hold back, but I have three cards for you today using this set!  The first one I created for a Very Vintage swap at Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference.  I used Illuminate Glimmer Watermark ink for the floral background and the Double Embossing technique on the vellum circle.  (I promise I’ll post complete details on each of my cards!)

Debra Burgin Very Vintage 2014 swapFebruary has lots of birthdays in my world, so it’s time to get those cards ready.  My SIL is recovering from back surgery; I hope her birthday in a few weeks finds her “in the pink”!

Debra Burgin Chalk Talk swagIt’s so hard for me to fight the urge to make everything symmetrical.  I joke (sort of) that my favorite stamping tool is my see-through quilting ruler.  So last week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge lived up to its name for me.  Frankly, I was amazed I got the 90° angle on that Finishing Touches border to work out perfectly the first time!  I made this card easier on my German-engineering nature by interpreting the sketch about as literally as I could.

Debra Burgin 140115 FMSHope you had fun here with Chalk Talk!  Continuing your hop?  Your next stop is Jill Stamps for her clever ideas.   See you on February 3!

Lovely cards and way to fight your symmetrical bent! You made me laugh with the “German Engineering”; we have something called “Cuban Engineering” in our family… I have a feeling they are the same sort of thing 🙂

Double embossed Vellum. I would never have thought to emboss it to begin with. Very interesting. I love the illuminate ink. Gorgeous! The sanded scalloped piece is so Stinkin’ pretty! I absolutely LOVE the banner on the second card. Great use of the framelit. Lovin’ the 90 degree angle. I’ll have to work on that one! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
