Welcome to the Occasions Catalog Blog Hop!

SA-OM-BH-001Welcome to Stampin’ Addicts‘ latest blog hop, celebrating the new Occasions Catalog from Stampin’ Up! — live today!  If you’re following along in the catalog (with your wish list in hand), the blogs are in the same order as the products.  Please click my pictures to see larger versions, and come back next week to get the details of my projects.

(Remember, the blog hop is a loop.  Just follow the link at the bottom of each stamper’s post to get to the next blog; eventually you’ll end up back where you started.  And if you ever lose your way, come back here and click on the banner above to see the complete lineup of blogs.)

You may have arrived from Stampin’ with Paula and enjoyed her projects using Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper.  I can’t keep away from this paper, and I’m thrilled that Paula’s given me even more reason to love it!

My immediate idea was to create a “What does the fox say?” card with my blog hop set, Life in the Forest.  (It took only a few minutes after coming up with my “original” idea to find that a bunch of stampers had beat me to it!)  So I went in a different direction, with this Welcome Baby Bunny card for a friend who recently became a grandmother to a little girl — for the fifth time!  No boys in that generation, so I thought I might as well drench this card in pretty and pink.  The silver detail you see is a technique called Spirelli.  Stamp campers, we’ll be doing a much simpler version of this at camp this month!

Debra Burgin Welcome baby bunnyI must admit that it’s a challenge for me to view a raccoon as a cute animal — maybe it’s bad dreams from seeing movies wherein hapless homeowners (or campers) are surprised (or terrorized) by raccoons that jump out of Christmas trees (or garbage cans).  Let’s not even discuss the family members who have had raccoon clans residing in their attics.  {{shiver}}  Still, there’s something about this image that is compelling, especially if I regard him as the Thief of Hearts.  This card is earmarked for my husband — only he is worthy of the time it took to (a) locate my craft knife and (b) cut out this varmint!

Debra Burgin Thief of heartsOK, so I don’t know what the fox says, but I’m pretty sure he lives in the forest, at least on this card!

Debra Burgin Fox in the forest #1 (2)Just open the window…

Debra Burgin Fox in the forest #2 (2)I hope you’ll have as much fun with this set as I have!  Your next stop on the hop will take you to The Stampin’ Bunny to see Rhonda’s projects using Happy Watercolor.  Wow!

Lovely projects, Debra. Love the soft colors with silvery bling on the girly card and the color combination and texture (burlap ribbon) on the last card. I feel like you do about raccoons (tons in our area) but he IS adorable as the thief of hearts 🙂

  2. Debra I had to laugh about your husband being worthy of that card. Your projects are so cute! I really didn’t like this set but now I see some good possibilities with it thanks to you!

wow great projects, love the spirelli, but my favorite is the peekabook fox card with his tail just showing – so fun!

The cards are wonderful. The bunny in pink is so cute. I am loving him! What a cute fox in a window. I have a hard time with the raccoon too. They destroy my bird feeders.

  12. Love all of these. They are just so cute. But I love the clever thing you did with that fox stamp. Great job!

  13. Tanya Boser says:

Wow, so much cuteness here! That spirelli technique looks intriguing, and the paper piecing on the last card is wonderful! Love the little window to the forest too 🙂

Deb your narrative is delightfully fun! And your projects are perfect in every way.. there is no way I pick a favorite:)

  17. Debbi says:

What fun projects and great descriptions! The baby card is beautiful and I love how the fox’s tail peeks out. I’m awed that you cut out the racoon with a craft knife – I can use only paper snips.

  18. Sally says:

The fox card is so cute!! Love the colors and the fiber and the trees–but of course you knew that already;)

  19. Holly E. says:

These are adorable.. I love the Raccoon one. Great use of the set.
