Little bird

Debra Burgin 1308 Little birdHere’s another card by Fran Sabad that I thought was simply too wonderful not to make in camp this month.  The sponging of the embossed background is done very lightly, and it’s echoed in the sponging of the card base.

I wonder how many times I’ve said how I love Backyard Basics and the matching Framelits.  (And don’t forget that the stamp set and Framelits are offered as a bundle at a 15% discount!)  I suppose I could cut out this bird by hand, but I’m happy I don’t have to!

We’re not totally settled in the new house, and there are lots of little projects ahead, but I am escaping into a … book!  I really can’t remember the last book I read, which is shameful.  This one is A Fine Romance:  Falling in Love With the English Countryside by Susan Branch.  I pre-ordered it back in March, and it arrived a month or so ago with a hand-signed bookplate in it.  I put it safely to the side to use as a reward after the move.  I’ve earned it!

Anyone else here a Susan Branch fan?  (I made my very first scrapbook from one of her kits!)  She’ll be at a book signing not far from here in a few weeks, but I have camp that night.  It’s not that I would gush and be silly about seeing her, but I’d like to experience that kind of event.

Back to the card!

Cute card! Yes, I am one of those who follow and comment on Susan’s blog – just love her:) Do you comment? as Debra? Oh, too bad you can’t make her signing as I think it would be such fun.

I don’t comment often, as I read her through Feedly. But I did (as Debra Burgin, I think!) when she wrote about the signing in Sandwich, MA. We ate at the same restaurant they did — it was fab!
