Foxy Storybook Friend

Debra Burgin 1307 FoxI know F is for Fox, but this card is for Peter.  (Most of my stampers used F as their letter!)  This card is also for Carol, who has been asking for months for a card with this image from Storybook Friends.  It uses a favorite color combo of mine, Cajun Craze and Marina Mist.

I had to research the coloring of the fox — I’m not sure that there’s a consistent color due to locale and season — and I decided to try for more red near the head and more brown near the tail.  I’m still practicing coloring with re-inkers; I think my stampers this month did a better job than I did!

A new obsession is the Dictionary background stamp.  The print is smaller than on the First Edition DSP, and of course it can be any color on any background you choose!  I can’t defend this, but I prefer using wood-mounted stamps for backgrounds.  Could it be the so-cool stamp case it comes in?  I think this product is a bargain at $6.94 for four cases — they’re perfect for scraps and tools.

Stamps:  Dictionary (p. 100), Storybook Friends (p. 52)

Ink/Color:  Crumb Cake, StazOn Jet Black, Stampin’ Ink Refills (Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip), Stampin’ Write Markers (Marina Mist, Sahara Sand)

Paper:  Cajun Craze, Naturals Ivory, Watercolor Paper, Marina Mist

Other:  3/4″ Chevron Ribbon (Marina Mist), Aqua Painter, Blender Pen, 3/16″ Corner Punch, Big Shot, Typeset Alphabet Die, Finishing Touch Edgelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Yay! Text! Great color combo and that little edgelit is delightful. It makes me happy that this is a flat card 🙂
