Cantaloupe Chalk Talk

Debra Burgin Cantaloupe Chalk TalkThese are the summer days I love:  bare feet in the house, long evenings, and sweet cantaloupe for breakfast.  I just can’t make myself buy melon out of season, so when it’s finally here and so inexpensive, we eat a lot of it.

I love the Stampin’ Up! color just as much, and have been planning another card that pairs it with Basic Gray and Smoky Slate (not as blue or dark as it appears here, BTW).  I got a rather lukewarm endorsement of this as a card for a guy — what do you think?

(Hint:  When you are placing a sentiment piece partially on several layers of card stock and ribbon, use Stampin’ Dimensionals only on the plain side and Glue Dots on the layered side.  This keeps the sentiment from “going downhill.”)

Stamps:  Chalk Talk (p. 12)

Ink/Color:  Calypso Coral, Basic Gray

Paper:  Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Gray

Other:  Big Shot, Chalk Talk Framelits, Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon (Smoky Slate), Stampin’ Dimensionals

I love the textures in this card! I really like the cantaloupe, pretty sure I could paint a whole room that color. Masculine enough? Don’t know but easy enough to test other color combinations. The great part about coordinating paper and ink!

I love the ribbon and the slate. Steve is not a fan of the cantaloupe.
