For You Mosaic

Debra Burgin for You MosaicCount me among those who love the new Stampin’ Up! neutral Smoky Slate.  I love creating (and living) with gray anyway, but this particular color works so well with lots of Stampin’ Up! core colors.  And the In Colors.  Last year’s In Colors, too.  OK, it’s just about perfect!

For this Hostess Appreciation Event card, I embossed Vellum Card Stock with the new Modern Mosaic folder.  Note that the pattern is not centered from top to bottom; this raises up the design elements just a tad — and here’s a bit of trivia:  “weighting” the bottom of a mat (so that there’s more space at the bottom) is common when framing paintings or photograph.  It doesn’t have to be much, but it seems to be more pleasing to the eye than centering everything.  (And it’s easier to achieve, too!)

Stamps:  Mosaic Madness (p. 123), Layered Labels (p. 104), A Round Array (p. 126)

Ink/Color:  Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray

Paper:  Smoky Slate, Vellum Card Stock, Whisper White, Basic Gray

Other:  Big Shot, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Apothecary Accents Framelits, 1″ Circle Punch, Mosaic Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Dazzling Details (Silver), Stampin’ Dimensionals
