Better Homes & Gardens (May 2013)

Last week I was giving my magazines one last look before they got put in the recycling bin; I never start a new month’s edition before tossing the last one.  (I have many collections in my life, but not old magazines!)

I’ve told you before how much I love the color ideas Better Homes & Gardens provides each month.  The photo above really caught my eye, and I’ll bet you already know why!

Not only was it cleaning day, but I needed a card, so I took that opportunity to challenge myself.  How close could I get to the feel and the colors of that photo?  Here’s my card:

Debra Burgin Inspiration by BH&GI’m not so sure I succeeded — that is, I’m not that crazy about the finished product!  However, I was really thrilled with the way the embossing folder inked up.  Very cool!
