Alas, it was not flowers in our basement but raindrops — a huge quantity of them Thursday morning after 5+ inches of rain. I did not see the “possibilities” of that calamity right away. In fact, there was quite a bit of unhappiness here as we experienced our third “once in a hundred years” flood. Ahem.
But since my plan Thursday was to pack up some of the basement in anticipation of moving, we just went at it from a different angle. Thankfully DH had vacuumed up all my little paper scraps from the studio the day before, because trying to get up wet paper from the floor would have been nasty. My stepson was able to come over to help with the pumps and DH and I worked and worked to get things dry and back to normal. Good thing, as in the middle of all the cleanup we got a call requesting a house showing Friday afternoon!
As you can see from the photo, Heidi Baks designed this card — all I did was stamp my own version! There is something magical about the sponging on this card; even if you’re not crazy about the way it looks, when the images are stamped on top, it all falls into place. (Need some tips on sponging? I’ll give you my suggestions tomorrow.)
