Watercolor Paper is the secret to this card — it makes it so easy to watercolor with crayons and an Aqua Painter, but I also love coloring on Shimmery White. Something about that paper keeps it from disintegrating when using water, although it will break down if you move the color around too much.
The frothy overlay of vellum on Pool Party is so sweet! It’s adhered to the card front just under the Saffron oval. (Is it an egg? Maybe!) I never get tired of using vellum, especially when it’s embossed. I think this would make an adorable baby announcement.
Did you know there’s a rumble in the Stampin’ Up! community that Pool Party may stick around? It’s set to retire at the end of May, but … I wonder. Meanwhile, I used the now-retired Sale-A-Bration Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack to embellish this card.
