A rainbow of Easter Blessings

Debra Burgin 1303 Watercolor Wash RainbowKimberly Van Diepen recently shared this technique; I loved the effect and decided to feature it as the March Watercolor Wash technique card.  (We now have nine cards on the Technique Ring!)  Repetitive swipes of a very wet Aqua Painter loaded with ink from the lid of an ink pad creates this rainbow.  Simple!  Watercolor Paper is essential because of all the water and movement of color.

I wanted this card to be simple so as not to take away from this amazing color, so the mat is embossed on the Big Shot and the sentiment — a single stamp from the Spring Catalog — is embossed in Pewter powder.

Over 35 of these cards were made this month.  Each was unique and absolutely stunning!

Stamps:  Easter Blessings (Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog)

Ink:  Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, VersaMark

Paper:  Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Watercolor Paper

Other:  Big Shot, Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Aqua Painter, Heat Tool and Stampin’ Emboss Powder (Pewter), Stampin’ Dimensionals
