Purple fever!

Debra Burgin 1303 CH #1Something about (very) early spring makes me think purple.  I guess it’s the anticipation of the spring bulbs that even now are bravely poking their heads above ground in the front yard.

Luckily I saw this idea for double-time stamping using this background stamp, which has sat neglected in my studio for months.  I never could get a great card out of it until now, and this card is so stunning IRL.

My stampers at last Friday’s camp were perplexed — no, worried — about how you could ever get two images to line up like this.  Then they learned the secret!  (If you’re not sure about this technique, you can read about it HERE.)

You can barely see the tiny bit of sparkle accenting the blooms and around the sentiment.  You don’t have to put globs of Dazzling Details on to make the point; this is delicate and subdued.

This card is for the 19th birthday of my purple-loving granddaughter tomorrow.  (Happy birthday, sweetie!)  But you can make one almost like it at my upcoming All-Occasions Stamp-a-Stack on Saturday, April 6.  Click the badge at right to read more.
