A Bloomin’ Marvelous floral frame

Debra Burgin 1302 Floral FrameThis floral frame was inspired by one of my favorite stampers, Cindy Elam.  I changed her card quite a bit, but she got me started!

This is one of our camp cards for this month.  It’s refreshing to pick up some spring colors after all that red and pink of the last few weeks.  Still, I have a few more Valentines I want to try … next year.

I’ve seen, in person and on the web, a few techniques for dying this beautiful 5/8″ Flower Trim from the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog, but none as easy as how we’re doing it:  put the flowers down on your Grid Paper and smoosh the ink pad into them.  A firm smoosh gives you lots of color, a lighter touch gives you a hint of hue.  Although the color is a little off in the photo above, I think you can see how great they turn out adding color this way.  Bonus:  no inky fingers!
