Tuesday Tip: Builder Wheels

Debra Burgin Builder WheelI don’t remember exactly when Stampin’ Up! debuted the Builder Wheels — a few years ago, it seems.  I’ve been very reluctant to try these narrow wheels that you “build” on a Jumbo Handle fit with a special spindle.  First, would I really want three images in the same color?  Second, if I only put one (narrow) wheel on, would the wheel shimmy or feel stable?

The answer to the first question, is no, so the second one was really the issue.  But when I saw the Travel Journal, Viola’s Lace, and Measuring Stick wheels at the bottom of page 108 of the “big” catalog, I had to jump in.

The image above is the Travel Journal wheel.  My first attempt was perfect — no wiggling or wobbling — when I followed my own wheeling advice.

So don’t be afraid of using the narrow wheels alone — there are fabulous images just waiting for you to try!

I can’t wait to do some “wheeling” at stamp camp.
I might be encouraged to purchase some wheels if I learn how to use them.
