Leaf on Block

Debra Burgin Leaf on BlockWe’re having an exuberantly beautiful fall here in northern Illinois — it’s a thrill to see the change of colors.  Unfortunately, we’ve also experienced the melancholy of autumn as several in our circle of family and acquaintances have died.  And so I’ve needed cards that are more simple and subtle.

I had a period last week when so many of my stamping supplies were packed up for camp or Super Saturday — it was a challenge to pull something together without a Big Shot!  So I went back to a technique that doesn’t require much:  inking up a clear block and using it as a stamp.  I’ll be writing up this technique for a future newsletter.  Are you subscribed?

Stamps:  French Foliage

Ink:  Sahara Sand, Bravo Burgundy, assorted Watercolor Wonder Crayons

Paper:  Naturals Ivory, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand

Other:  Clear Block, Aqua Painter, Blender Pen

That’s a keeper. It’s not a sad or maudlin card at all. It’s so elegant and circle-of-life in its feel. Love this card, Debra!
