I was so surprised when SU! announced the change to its ink pads. I didn’t think the flip-lid pads could be improved. Wow, was I wrong!
I’ve been stamping with my sneak-peek products from the new catalog for a few weeks now, and let me just say that the pads are amazing. I don’t know what I was expecting when they said “firm foam,” but yes, it is foam and it is firm — not as firm as the felt pads, so I think you feel the inking process better. But the real change for me is the coverage. I had to read and re-read the information about the pads to make sure the ink is the same.
Yes, the ink is the same, for most colors — keep reading! If you have re-inkers, you will be able to use them on the new pads if you need to. However, five ink colors have been reformulated, and you cannot use the old re-inkers on the new pads. Those colors are:
- Basic Black
- Basic Gray
- Marina Mist
- Perfect Plum
- Tempting Turquoise
