The Double Triplet

Debra Burgin Double TripletThis is a closer look at one of my projects from last week’s Stampin’ Addicts Retiring Stamps Blog Hop.

Black butterflies?  Is that a group from the 70s?  Perhaps I’m betraying my roots with this card.

Actually, I never cared for heavy metal, so this card just offers a lot of sparkle — via my tried-and-true VersaMark + Iridescent Ice technique.  I heat embossed my scraps after stamping (of course!) but before punching.  It’s easier to manage this process when the scraps are bigger.  You don’t want to have a 1″ square flying off the table and landing on your skin, because you know the side that lands on you will be the one with the molten embossing powder.  Ouch.

Stamps:  Flight of the Butterfly*

Ink/Color:  VersaMark

Paper:  Basic Black, Twitterpated DSP (now retired), Riding Hood Red, Whisper White

Other:  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Heat Tool and Stampin’ Emboss Powder (Iridescent Ice), 1″ Square Punch, Postage Stamp Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

*Retiring!
