Who deserves an artichoke?

One of my favorite retiring sets is Homegrown.  I love the line drawing style of the images.  They’re so very easy to color:  using Watercolor Wonder crayons, I wash over the entire image with a lighter green (Old Olive), then use Always Artichoke (of course) over the already shaded areas.  Nothing to fuss over.

However, who should get a card with this image?  I thought it looked masculine, with a very restrained, conservative ribbon.  My husband said, “Shouldn’t it have a tree?”

I know an artichoke is not a tree.  I still think this card (and I know you’re only seeing part of it) is masculine.  But why would you send a man — or anyone — an artichoke card?

A gardener would enjoy a card like this! You have reminded me to use my pencils a little bit more. They are certainly neglected! Beautiful coloring Debra.
