Camp homework

Debra Burgin 1203 Spring Faux Silk thumbnailThis little swatch is a preview of a card at camp this month, using the Faux Silk technique.  I love it, but we haven’t used it for a long time.  So, because of my Fabric Fusion theme in March, I thought it was time again.

New to Faux Silk?  I wrote a little tutorial HERE, in case you need to read up on the technique (or practice!).  This time, instead of using a Xyron for an even application of adhesive, we’re using a product new to me:  Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  I saw these demonstrated at Leadership Conference in January and put them on my first order after returning home.  Even so, I was uncertain how they would perform — would the stickiness be difficult to control? — but they are a dream to work with.  And very affordable, I think.

I’ll show you the complete card some other time.  Meanwhile, get out that tissue paper!
