No one warned me

About Downton Abbey, that is.  I had never heard of it until my step-daughter called yesterday afternoon to say we should be watching it.

So we watched the beginning of season 2 last night.  Rather, we got a running start on it by watching part of the last episode from season 1.  That gave us some time to tune our ears to the British accents, to check imdb to find out why American Elizabeth McGovern was in the series, and for me to ask questions like “Why don’t we have a footman?” and “Should we eat ‘dinner’ at 8:00?”

So now we are hooked.  There aren’t too many series that have done that over the years.  Usually, if we are captivated by a program, it is the kiss of death for it, and the series disappears without a satisfying conclusion.  Yes, we are the ones to blame.

Now to find time to view the first season.

Do you love this, too?

My daughter came home from college for Christmas break and got me hooked on Downton Abbey!!! We watched seasons 1 & 2 and I was all excited for season 3 to start and she informed me that it won’t air until September, boo hoo.

I was hooked from the first episode. And it just keeps getting better! Glad to find someone who appreciates the finer things in life! 😉
