I had a wonderful day with Little Whistling Nose yesterday, who is almost back to normal after his terrible cold. I picked up hazardous items from the floor over and over and over again as he returned to his vigorous play. (By hazardous, I mean to the adults, not the child. There is a Three Stooges-type accident waiting to happen to us here. Balls of all sorts. Trucks and cars. Plastic lids. Drool.)
So last evening, just as planned, I was busy and happy in the studio. I’ve been doing lots of experimenting with holiday stamps and the Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Some ideas worked, some didn’t, but I kept many of the pieces.
This card came together from three different rejected elements that were too good to throw away — commonly known as UnFinished Objects. I keep them in a few small boxes and only occasionally sort through the boxes and ruthlessly toss those that seem unpromising.
Although not practical for stamp camp (that wreath is tedious to cut out by hand) and perhaps not USPS-friendly, I love the way this turned out — it expresses my feelings exactly!
The tip? Don’t give up on your UFOs too soon!
