Yesterday the latest issue of Country Living arrived. Like my sister before me, before reading I remove all the glued-in and blown-in advertising cards. One I ripped out of the binding was a booklet of holiday ideas. I put it to the side to review for papercrafting ideas before it goes in the recycling bin.
And there it was: “Add personal flair to your table with handmade felt coasters….” Naturally I adapted the project to the Big Shot Snowflake #2 die. It would have been nice to have white felt, but all I had was pink and autumn colors from previous projects. (I’d like a white snowflake on a pink circle, since our best china is a pink rose pattern.) So, use your imagination!
If you haven’t die cut felt, try it. This snowflake die is intricate and benefited from a shim with the felt. A bit of fabric glue keeps things in place on the scallop circle.
Isn’t this Fostoria wine glass pretty? It’s one of the many beautiful items my husband has from his first marriage that I’m very fortunate to use as my own. I’m starting to feel the need to feed — bring on the guests!
