Plum Frosted Leaves

Debra Burgin 1109 Plum Frosted LeavesThis was the fourth of our stamp camp cards this month.  You may remember an earlier version of this “frosted” technique here.  I’ve had this particular color combination stuck in my head ever since I saw a guest minister wearing khaki slacks, an ivory shirt, and a plum-print tie.  It was just fabulous!

I also used this card as a reason to use a product brand-new to me, but not to Stampin’ Up!:  the Texture Cuts Wood Sheets.  Designed for the Big Shot, the thin sheets of real wood are backed with paper so they will not crack or peel when die cut.  The wood grain is beautiful and can be intensified with ink that’s sponged on.  I think these sheets are reasonably priced, considering how many die cuts you can get.  I’m anxious to create a strip of wood rick-rack for another autumn card.
