My once-a-month Friday afternoon stamp camp at Colonial House is a pleasure, and not just because the stampers are so fun to be with. I design cards for this camp that are simple in design but still use techniques that are easy to do at home. Rare is the card with a non-paper embellishment, so I need to be creative in adding texture.
Last month we talked about wheeling. One of my stampers uses wheels quite a bit; the others, not at all. So this was my challenge for September. Wheeling tone-on-tone makes the Mustard panel on this card look like it’s been embroidered. It’s a very rich look. We used a leaf from the beautiful Gently Falling set, repeated and sponged to resemble the changing colors we’re starting to see.
