Tuesday Tip: Made for each other

Debra Burgin Made for each otherI know you’re not surprised to hear me admit that I am a Stampin’ Up! fan.  Stampin’ Up!’s not perfect, but they do so many, many things right that I can overlook and forgive a few missteps.

Here’s one more reason for my support:  they design products that work together.  Take the new Designer Frames embossing folders.  First of all, what a bargain at $8.95 for two folders!  Second they are stinkin’ cute.  And third, the oval folder is made for one of our punches.  I’ve seen people tear around the embossed oval (love that look!), and I know I could trim around it by hand, but I discovered that one of the Big Shot dies works beautifully, too.  Die cut the oval, emboss it, stamp a sentiment on a coordinating card stock, and punch out the sentiment with the oval punch.

In the photo above you see one of the new folders, the Ovals die, and the Extra-Large Oval punch.  Watch in the next day or two for the card I made with these coordinating products.

So my tip is to watch for these products.  In last year’s catalog, SU! started outlining stamp images with the matching punch.  But think outside the box, circle, or oval — how else can stamps, punches, and dies work together?
