Floret squares

Debra Burgin Floret squaresAfter dying that ribbon last week, I’m kind of in a pink-and-orange groove.  Come to think of it, that is a groovy combo!

It’s been a slow week for stamping, but busy otherwise.  Really couldn’t spare the time away last week, although I needed it and enjoyed it, darn it!  But we are frantically getting ready to participate in a household auction (several households) and now going through every room, every bookcase and closet and cupboard in the house picking up things and saying “Should we get rid of this?”  It’s gotten comical.

And dangerous.  I can picture us in a few months, wondering “What ever happened to ___?”  “We wouldn’t have gotten rid of that, would we?”

This morning the guys will be here (early, but not as early as the baby) to pick up our stuff, and that will be that.  Anything left behind will go to the next available church rummage sale.  Always grateful for those!

Of course the irony of doing this very serious, deep purging just in time for the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog is not lost on anyone here!

If the discovering of long-lost treasures (that belong in someone else’s house) and vintage dust bunnies isn’t enough, I’m staying up late trying to finish some training materials for an upcoming computer class.  I listen to 50s Rock & Roll on Pandora to keep motivated.  And close the office door so I don’t wake up DH with my whistling.

But I’m pooped.  And so I just couldn’t think what to do with the card base here.  I didn’t want to get too fussy, and I do believe it’s possible to overdo the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, so I held back.  For fun, I used the rock-and-roll technique on these flowers.  That’s what’s so great about this set — both line and solid images for plenty of techniques.
