I’ve been a subscriber to Victoria magazine for years; at one time I had every issue. I was sad when they stopped publishing a few years ago, then joyous when they started back up. It’s just so beautiful — I love to get it in the mail even if it’s only every other month.
So I was delighted when our mail carrier greeted baby Peter and me with a plastic-wrapped copy (along with the usual credit card advertising and a few important pieces of mail). I carefully put it to the side; this magazine is not something you idly thumb through. It takes respectful concentration!
And then, I happened to glance over at DH after supper during the news and he is reading Victoria. Never had a chance to coo over the cover — even the opportunity to break open the plastic bag was stolen from me.
In his defense, he pointed out that it was addressed to him (a puzzle) and he thought it was a sample copy. That’s because the magazine is, like others, so thin these days. He handed it over to me pronto.
It’s one of my favorite issues, this May/June one devoted to blue and white. I love that they do it every year. And I had to take the opportunity (once my little charge was back with his mother) to create a card in the same vein. Finally, after all the blah-blah-blah, here it is:
The label in the middle is from the Four Frames set, from Stampin’ Up!’s upcoming (July 1!) 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog that’s available this month only with a small additional qualifying purchase. (You can see the images from the set and the Designer Series Paper here.)
Yes, the flowers on this label coordinate perfectly with the large floral spray from Elements of Style. How cool is that?
May I challenge you to create your own blue and white card this week?
