It was a busy, busy weekend — and most of it I spent dabbing my runny nose and eyes. I got this lovely head cold from my DIL. Happily, the baby didn’t get it as bad as the adults.
Friday and Saturday we attended a memorial service and funeral for a dear friend of ours, the minister who married us 24½ years ago. When he died suddenly in mid-December, I was heartbroken. He was someone who knew me and understood me, but loved me anyway!
But since it’s been a few months, the weekend was mostly free of weeping. It was a joy to see DH’s children and others re-connect with the family. The reunions were so animated and spirited, the minister had to ask them to let her get on with the service!
By yesterday I was really under the weather, so after some obligations at church, breakfast out with friends, and a walk through the downtown shops, we had a quiet afternoon. Several cups of tea and a brief nap helped me a bit, and I was able to stamp and work on some home decorating projects.
I was so happy with the way this little gift enclosure turned out. It’s simple: the scalloped square is the card front. Adhered to the back is a slightly smaller folded piece of card stock. I like this so much we’ll be making a full-size version at stamp camp this month.
