Martha’s eggs

Debra Burgin Martha's eggsThis is the card I wanted to make ever since I set eyes on Nature Walk, the wonderful Stampin’ Up! set in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  I love every image in it, but especially this row of eggs.

At a workshop Monday night (the night it began snowing and blowing), we were talking about Martha Stewart.  I’m not embarrassed to say that she has had a huge influence on my life.  I used to tape (!) all her shows, but when she revamped the format and started “entertaining” more than educating, I lost interest.  Her magazine is amazing.

She used to raise chickens on her Connecticut property and spoke of the delicately colored eggs they produced.  I had visions of raising chickens, too, until the reality of city ordinances and DH’s loathing of them (cooked or alive) intervened.

So it was my first thought to color these eggs.  I didn’t want an Easter card, really, just something sophisticated and artsy.  I like it.

Paper:  Basic Gray, Watercolor Paper
