Tuesday Tip: Colored Rhinestones

Debra Burgin Colored rhinestonesThis (extremely) enlarged view shows the colored Rhinestone from last Friday’s project, HERE.  The technique is so simple, it’s hardly worth explaining, but I will:  Simply use a Sharpie marker! Minimal (if any drying) time — it’s instant gratification.  This was a brown marker, but against Cajun Craze it appears almost like a garnet, one of my favorite precious gems (which I don’t even own, may Santa take note).  Try this with the smaller Rhinestones in red for the holly berries in Bells & Boughs.

I experimented with other permanent markers that made the Rhinestone too opaque.  The Sharpie allows the faceting to shine beautifully.  I suppose I could wear these on my ears ….
