I thought I’d share this tag I made last year for our little neighbors. Liz Miller inspired me with her punch art. The 1/4″ punch and small star punch are retired, sorry to say.
We had a wonderful Independence Day, although I have to say I don’t care for it on Sunday. We raced from worship to a parade, then rushed to lunch, then returned home, where each assumed his/her standard napping posture for a bit.
The evening was nothing but traditional, thank goodness: a fabulous band concert by our municipal band and amazing fireworks. DH and I sing along with the show tunes and patriotic numbers while the sky explodes. It’s very unsettling when you see the pyro crew running away from their staging area. Trouble?
But the finale was super. It brought back memories of my childhood, watching “the works” from the street corner by our house, proud that my Dad nailed a flare into the telephone pole for our homemade display. Simple times, eh?
