Cameo butterfly

Did you know this?  One of the butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies die is a perfect mat for one from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit!

I began this butterfly with vellum card stock in the Embosslit.  The die cuts proved challenging to remove, despite my tip.  So with my glasses off and my head bent over the die, I carefully used the tip of the Piercing Tool to pop them out.  And one flew right up my nose.

That one is not used on this project!

The trick to achieving the lifted wings is to first adhere, with Multi Purpose Adhesive, the “spine” of the butterfly to the card stock.  When that is dry (press on it for just a few seconds), tuck a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional under the wing.  Don’t get it too close to the spine or it will try to pull the spine off.  There are even tiny pieces of Dimensionals under the small vellum butterfly.  Hopefully that will ensure a safe trip through the postal system.

These are my very last half-back pearls from the Pretties Kit, and I had to do some searching to find four of them!  Rumor has it that we’ll be seeing some fabulous, similar embellishments in the new catalog.

I think I’ll put this card away for my step-son and DIL’s anniversary in late summer.

    Debra,
Another beautiful creation, one to recreate many, many times in different coordinating colors, is a delight to look forward to CASE-ing from Heartfelt Inkspirations, this summer
