Spring training

Around six weeks ago DH decided it was time to start getting in shape for yard work. He didn’t want us laid up after our first day of raking, hauling, and pruning!  So we began walking four or five days a week — when it was really icy we were at the park district gym on the treadmills, but if the wind chill wasn’t below 20°, we would be outside.  Yes, there’s something really invigorating about a brisk walk!

Yesterday I walked alone and decided to stretch the routine a bit, taking the shorter “long way,” a walk of 45 minutes.  It has a gradual but pretty steep hill that made me realize that I still have a long way to go, fitness-wise!

With the lawnmower standing by, our muscles toning, and the snow melting, we are nearly ready for spring!  So I stamped up this card — not really a quick card because of all the tiny paper piecing involved.  Dacia Smith created the original card that provided my inspiration.
