Welcome, Occasions Mini Blog Hoppers!

Welcome to my stop on the Stampin’ Addicts Occasions Mini Blog Hop!  You’ve probably just come from Rubber Stamping and Card Making and enjoyed Yapha’s fabulous creations using the set My Matryoshka.  (A big “thanks” to her for putting this hop together!)

The Chocolate Bunny stamp immediately called my name when I got the sneak peek of the Occasions Mini —  the Cute Quotient is very high with this image!  I had many ideas for this stamp, but only one of them for Easter!  To keep my stop fairly brief, I have not included recipes for the cards.  Stop back when the hop is over and I’ll re-post my projects with complete details.  Please click images to enlarge.

  1. And so, Easter in its sugary, egg-y, frilly glory!
  2. Actually, my first thought for about this stamp was not of chocolate, but of the beautiful vintage metal chocolate molds.  Getting that look took a bit of experimentation, but I liked this version best.  It is silver embossing powder on Basic Gray card stock.  It doesn’t photograph the best, but the effect IRL is charming.
  3. I love the look of individually cut words on cards and scrapbook pages.  This stamp from By Definition seemed ideal for a birthday card.  Also new from the Occasions Mini:  Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit Die, and 5/8″ Satin Ribbon (Certainly Celery).
  4. Finally, just a little something when you need to say, “Sorry I chewed your ___ out.”  Hopefully you won’t need to make this little 3″ x 3″ card too often!

I’m the last stop on the hop, but it’s really a big loop.  So if you’ve just started, jump over to Stellar Stamps to see what Stella’s designed using the set Garden From the Heart.

  6. I love the versatility you showed with this stamp! The faux metal is precious as well as the egg on the first one. The last card, however, is my favorite. I should make a bunch for a few people I know!

  8. Sally Estes says:

I got stuck at Rubber Rednecks. Anyone else?
Thanks anyway Debra. I thought it was pretty smart of you to think of the tin mold instead of just the chocolate bunny!

  9. Heather says:

I had to laugh on the last card! Thanks for the nudge to place this one on my next order! I love the textured egg and ruched ribbon on the Easter card. Absolutely beautiful!

  13. Cheryl says:

They’re all adorable, but the first and last are my two favorites. Seeing the mold version, I couldn’t help but thinking how it would work trying the faux metal technique. I might have to try that! Nice work.

  14. Lisa says:

  15. Oh my gosh! That sorry card is the best!!!! Too cute! My other favorite is the silver bunny too!

  16. Lyssa says:

  20. Cherie says:

Just too darn cute! Love the one with the bite out of it! TFS!

  21. Kim says:

So clever! Love the “tin” bunny. I collect old candy molds. This made me smile and then I laughed out loud at the last card! Great idea!

  22. Love your chocolate bunnies Debra! My very favorite is the textured egg background, definately CASE-worthy!!

  23. Debadoo says:

I LOVE this stamp! Fell in love the moment I saw it, and I love what you did with it. Great idea for the candy mold. May have to try that with some of my carefully hoarded copper EP. I was waiting for a card with the ear chomped off, but your version is super cute. My fav is the first card. Gorgeous colors, love the ribbon treatment, everything about it. Every time I see this stamp I think of one of the bunnies we used to have. It was Easter and my son gave me a bite of his chocolate bunny (we were sitting on the couch in front of her cage), and of course I bit the ear, and said something like, I love biting the ears off the bunny. The real bunny reached up with her paw just then and pulled her ear down as if to protect it. Perfect timing!!

  24. Stamper Jill says:

Love your chocolate bunny – especially the one with a bite taken out. lol Great job and very creative as usual!

  25. Your sugar egg card is just lovely–and what a neat idea with the metal mold! And that last card needs a SPEW! alert. . . .

  26. Cookie says:

absolutely darling…. I really think this chocolate bunny will be as versitile as Dasher was…. loved all of them….

  27. Rhonda L. says:

  28. Suzette Kaufmann says:

I have to agree with everyone, I love the bunny mold effect – I love, love, love it and plan to try it as soon as my stamp arrives. The sorry card it too cute and someone mentioned an ear being chomped off – will have to try that one too! Thank you for sharing.
