My Digital Studio: the process

Before: Designer Template

Today I thought I would show you why My Digital Studio is so easy to use.  This is a page for a book about last weekend’s Super Saturday.  Instead of starting from scratch, I started my 8″ x 8″ album using a designer template.

This page happens to be page 5 of the template.  What you can’t see here is the placeholder for the photo:  it is about 7″ square.  From the folder of photos I selected, I just dragged and dropped the photo into the placeholder.  Since my photo was not square, I chose to crop and reduce its size, then added a drop shadow so that it had some dimension.

If you were at Super Saturday, you know our tables were protected with an orange covering — not very well coordinated with this page!  So the next change I made was to the the background paper. I chose a Designer Series Paper called Villa in Bashful Blue.

The default embellishments were OK, even the placement, except for the birthday sticker (from the Happy B-Day Simply Scrappin’ Kit)!  I simply deleted it.  I added a button to the larger flower and added a drop shadow to both buttons.

The default font and color for the text box would not work; I chose Arial Rounded Bold in black for my text.  I added a little text box and rotated it for the date at the top right of the photo.

That’s it — start with a template and change it to meet your needs.
