Gold Encore ink

Gold Encore ink -- #101017

I’ll admit that I was wary of ordering Stampin’ Up!’s Brushed Gold card stock the first time.  Would it be too much?  Too loud, too brassy, too Liberace?

I was not disappointed — it is a shimmery, frosty gold.  Just beautiful.  It’s a bit expensive, but a stunning touch in small doses, as with two other metallics on this card:  Gold Elastic Cord and Gold Encore ink.  The ink, according to Stampin’ Up!, “dries faster than most pigment ink but still slower than dye-based ink.’  For this reason, we heat embossed the stamped leaf images with clear embossing powder to set the ink.

The bow-tied cord, slipped into the taffeta knot before tightening, is a technique I use a lot, especially on holiday cards.

Stamp:  Autumn Splendor (Holiday Mini p. 12)

Ink:  Encore Gold, VersaMark

Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold (p. 159)

Other:  Heat Tool and Stampin’ Emboss Powder (Clear), Elastic Cord (Gold – Holiday Mini p. 27), Taffeta Ribbon (Very Vanilla), Mat Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals
