The card is hot. The bridal shower, I don’t know.
I spent some time this afternoon in the (cool) basement experimenting with the new In Colors. This is Melon Mambo with a touch of Crushed Curry. (Is your mouth watering yet?) The Melon sponged on the stamp already inked up in Curry created a beautiful orange shading. This technique, sponging on the rubber, is called “direct to rubber,” and because you can’t see exactly where the ink is going, the results are always a surprise. Remember to breathe on the stamp before stamping your card stock to moisten the ink.
I tried several color combos using this stamp; some results were quite gross, frankly! But that’s the fun of not simply making a card, but working with technique. The successful attempts go in the Scraps box to be used on some other project.
I decided to use this for our future DIL’s bridal shower in a couple of weeks. I don’t have a gift yet, but I do have the card!
