Bye-bye, birdie!

Bye bye birdie

Apologies for the ear worm!  I know I’ll be humming that for days now…

Here’s a quick card using two items from the Last Chance lists:  A Little Birdie Told Me and Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper.  I just got that paper in the promo last month, and it’s so cute and fun — perfect for this set.

The technique used on this card is paper piecing:  simply stamp the bird image on the DSP and cut out the body.  Adhere that over the body on the imaged stamped on Whisper White.  This is a variation on coloring line images that  is fun to play with.  Try it with floral images or (my fave) Sock Monkey.

The shadow effect at the bird’s feet is created with a reverse mask.  Punch the Small Oval in a piece of scratch paper and sponge the color inside.
