With sympathy

bleached-sympathyI always need to have sympathy cards at hand, ready to send.  This one is for the widow of DH’s cousin, who died last Friday.

We made a variation of this card at camp some time ago.  It uses bleach to change the color of the card stock.  Embossing the image creates a “dam” of sorts so the bleach doesn’t stray.  I love this technique because you don’t get the same results twice, and the color change is not always what you expect.

Stamps:  Embrace Life

Ink:  VersaMark, Ruby Red Craft

Paper:  So Saffron, Bordering Blue, Naturals Ivory, Very Vanilla, Ruby Red

Other:  Stampin’ Emboss Powder (Clear) and Heat Tool, Earth Elements Eyelets (retired), Stampin’ Dimensionals, small paintbrush, bleach
