Birthday blastoff

A January camp project!

A January camp project!

We have so many birthdays in January (and one at the end of December) that I can’t keep the studio too clean too long after Christmas projects or my cards are too late.

This card started out as a masculine card (before the ribbon), and I used the 2009 In Color Combination chart for color inspiration.  Then I thought about the recipient, and how his nose would turn up at the card because it was too “girly.”  I added the ribbon and now it’s going to Florida for my aunt’s birthday.  So there.

The funky waffle weave effect on the Kiwi panel was done by running it through the Crimper at opposite angles — very lightly.

Stamps:  Love You Much, Polka Dot

Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, VersaMark

Paper:  Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point

Other:  Stampin’ Emboss Powder (White) and Heat Tool, Heart To Heart Punch, Taffeta Ribbon (White), Crimper, Stampin’ Dimensionals
